i believe:

in living rather than trading time for meaningless stuff.

that good things are cultivated over generations.

In loving your neighbor.

That work is a beautiful + passionate endeavor.

That time around the table is daily bread.

That nature nurtures us body + soul.

In rest.

relearning the old ways

With the onset of fast food and online shopping, everything has become available to us, all the time.

With that came a shift in the way we move through and relate to life. everything was suddenly available to us, all the time. It became more affordable to burden ourselves with clutter and disease than to grow and build things yourself.

I often refer to this as the onset of “fast food culture” and A major shift in cultural values came along with fast food culture.

We started believing phrases like “time is money” “cheap is value” and “faster is better” and freshness went from meaning ripe to meaning, *never frozen on the truck it came from the factory farm in.*

Thankfully, there are many of us who don’t align with these values even though they’ve become the cultural norm. And people like us are relearning how to thrive with less stuff and slower life.
